"The Rice Harvest and Thanks giving Festival" 30th & 31st of May, Harvest Festival or also known as Pesta Ka'amatan is an annual event for the sabahan especially the kadazaandusun & the Murut people to celebrate. The sabahan people celebrated as a way of thanking the Kinoringan (God) of the rice/food that we have in our land . Perayaan yang gelang gemilang.....Aramaitii la di katakan!! But then again the event is not complete without the Unduk Ngadau (Beauty Pageant) competiting for the state level. The title for this year 2010 goes to Tati Crystal Eve Huminodun Majimbon representing Tanjung Aru.She is the eldest daughter of Harvest Festival Queen 1984, Esther Sikayun, 1st runner up goes to Tati Rochelle Fayreine from Penampang and the 2nd runner-up goes to Tati Lydia John Alai representing Kota Kinabalu.Congrats to them!!!.....
We celebrated Ka'amatan this year a little bit different from before, where i wanted to do and feel something that i never experience before in my own place on one of the BIG day of the year. So we decided to joined the "Mini-Pilgrimage"-CLOSING THE YEAR OF THE PRIEST organized by RFM from Secred Heart Inobong Church, Penampang. One of the main reason why mum wanted to make this trip a success was one of her "thanks giving" after what had happen. The past few months she was ill were she barely couldn't sleep or wake-up as always because of her neck problem. She had a major sugery back in 1996 but Praise the Lord she's ok nowww! I was amazed to see the number of people who joined, since it was the BIG DAY OF KERAMAIAN-31st May 2010.It's about 92 people joined.Yup,i didn't expect it too!....emm first "mini-pilgrimage".As secheduled, only a few churches in p'pang area were covered and there are:
Churches:
1. Secred Heart Inbong Church, Penampang
2. St. Augustine, Kinarut
3. St, Aloysius, Limbanak
4. Holy Navity Church, Terawi
5. St.Michael Church, Penampang
6. St. Joseph Chapel, Pogunon
The journey started at 8a.m and reached back to Inobong church at 4pm.It rains like cats and dogs but it didn't stop us to continue the programme til the dinner at ICCC hall.It was a tiring journey but way worth-it!!REALLY WORTH IT!!All the inai-inai pun bilang "penat tapi happy".1st time was never too late to experience something that you never expected. He'll walk you through the journey as long as you believe.
Here some of the photos i took and wanna share it to all.I noticed amazing things happen that i myself can't explain and didn't realise it until i looked at my photos.
Believe it or not?...
